Our Blue Diamond Chocolate Merle Colourful Yorkshire Terrier “Denke Bon Hiladel”
Bon Hildael Denke — known simply as Denke to those lucky enough to adore him — arrived from Belarus in 2025, stepping into our home with the serene confidence of a dog who already knows he’s something extraordinary. And he is. His Chocolate Parti Merle colouring is so unusual that even lifelong Yorkshire Terrier enthusiasts tend to pause, blink, and whisper, “Is that really a Yorkie.” Yes. Yes, it absolutely is.
Denke is a tri‑coloured chocolate, gold, and white Parti Yorkshire Terrier, beautifully overlaid with the delicate marbling created by the merle gene. The term Blue Diamond refers specifically to his naturally blue eyes, a feature so rare in Yorkshire Terriers that it instantly elevates him into a category all his own. His bright blue eyes shine like gemstones against his warm chocolate coat, giving him a look that is both striking and impossibly charming.
The merle gene itself has a fascinating history. Known for creating marbled pigment, softened patches, and those unforgettable blue eyes, merle has long been prized in several breeds. In Yorkshire Terriers, however, the combination of Parti colouring + Merle patterning + Blue Diamond eyes is exceptionally rare — a genetic trifecta that makes Denke truly one of a kind.
Denke has also been genetically health tested, giving complete confidence in the quality and integrity he brings to his offspring. His results reflect the same careful breeding that produced his striking appearance and gentle nature – And what a nature it is. Denke is the embodiment of gentle calm, with a soft, adoring temperament that makes him instantly endearing. He has a wonderfully comical streak, too — the sort of dog who will sit beside you with the wisdom of a tiny philosopher, then suddenly break into a silly little prance as if he’s remembered he’s also the household entertainer. He is affectionate without being demanding, sweet without being shy, and funny without ever trying too hard.
His first litters, arriving safely in 2025, have already shown just how strongly Denke passes on his rare colouring and gentle temperament. To date 6 out of 9 puppies from his first three litters have inherited his merle patterning well above the typical 50% expected from a merle‑to‑non‑merle pairing. Genetics clearly decided to be generous. These puppies carry his beautiful marbling, his warm chocolate and gold tones, and that unmistakable Denke charm that makes families fall instantly in love.
